Originally used as a cigarette box, a silver hinge and frame joins the top and bottom sections. With Italian silver 800 purity stamp and maker's mark of 244 MI for Eredi Mazzetti. Made between 1944 1968 in Milan. Eredi Mazzetti were known for producing high quality silver objects and decorative pieces. The firm was active in Milan from 1937 to 1971.
