It's cheap (mana-wise), it's fast, it lets you get back an instant or sorcery in your graveyard, and it's a 2/1 body that can attack and defend just like any other 2/1 body
I tested this against two opponents, one playing a B/G Aggro deck that continues to be popular from Week One of the SCG Open, and a Jeskai Saheeli Rai variant, both of which quickly decimated me without giving up a single game
It plays well with cyclers, especially Vizier of Tumbling Sands to untap it
That alone makes it a significant object for collectors
So next time you face off against a wily blue opponent, don't be surprised when they effortlessly counter your biggest spell after drawing half their deck
While the AI is very competent surprisingly so, in fact, given the age of this game and is fully capable of taking advantage of the unique decks that each opponent has, its still not a substitute for playing against a real human with their ability to make creative and strategic decisions
