In fact, because of its reprinting in Chronicles, Blood Moon was more effective because of the card library, in play, in Type II at the time, when compared with the available non-basic lands and their use at the time of its original printing in The Dark
They're the audience surrogate, the justification each set has to visit and explore a new world
These creatures are excellent for attacking and blocking with on their own, and the life gain is a nice bonus
