The silver has all over aesthetic style engraving to the front and a smooth polished finish to the reverse. It is set with a rich orange amber section to the centre. The brooch has an old c type clasp fastener and a base metal pin. Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, c1880s, Scottish make.
