A 19th Century Fine Steel Weymouth Curb Bit - Bit503 saddle Ref : Silver Carriage KeyThis steel curb bit is finer or more delicate than modern examples. It has fixed cheeks. The mouthpiece has a low port, stamped "B. C.". One cheek is stamped "Best Steel". The bit has one original curb hook, the other is a nickel replacement. It is in good condition with quite a dark patina and a little light surface oxidation around the curb rein rings. Dimensions : Mouthpiece 4" (11cm), Cheek length 7" (18cm)Weight : 310g (11oz)
