This is a card to cross your fingers and toes for - I particularly like the art for this one: that certainly is a vampiric tutor

But if there is one consistent thing that WoTC manages to do, it is that you can be generally sure that the card designs will always attempt to be as faithful to the material as they can realistically be, mechanically and art-wise

The deck itself strayed towards being a little too safe, and Id actually argue that while Brudiclad was good for the game, he was wrong for this deck (it needed another strong design centering an artifact strategy)
