A graded card (Pokmon, for example) is a collectible contained in a clear case (sealed by ultrasound) with a label identifying all its characteristics and attesting to its condition, usually on a scale from 1 to 10
They also get the more scarce in Magic instances of removing counters or dealing out -1/-1 counters

In order to avoid having to create multiple versions of each game, the Game Corner was written out of all versions of Pokmon, starting with Black & White

Personally I think it makes for more interesting strategy, but if the aim is to carve out a competing slice of the online CCG space, the complexity this adds may still prove to be an obstacle
