He received a position in 1677 in the court chapel of Duke Ferdinand Albrecht I of Brunswick Lneburg. However already in 1678 he was arrested for unseemly behavior, but was able to escape. From 1683 until his death, he held the position of organist at the Sankt Marien Kirche
