From the Publisher Among French composer Florent Schmitts chamber music works is his Chant Elegiaque for Cello and Piano, opus 24 (1899 1903). Schmitt (1870 1958) studied composition at Paris Conservatory under Massenet and Faure and won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1900. The Chant is dedicated to cellist Louis Feuillard (1872 1941).
