The upper hose connection was similar to the 1930 design than the previous 1928 funnel shape. Some have theorized that Ford in negotiating a contract with the Flint, MI supplier for the 1930 1931 product year began dual sourcing through this transition. Though the inlet looks like a 1930 31, we do match the angle of the 1928 and 1929.
